Migrante Australia, an alliance of organisations of Filipinos here in Australia, extends its support and solidarity with cleaners in Melbourne and with United Voice in its campaign for better wages and working conditions.

Migrant cleaners work hard to keep our shopping centres clean and pleasant places to be. Despite punishing workloads and poor pay, they always do a job they and their employers can be proud of.

We in Migrante Australia call on those employers, as well as the management of the retail centres, to recognise the contributions of their workers to their revenue and profit, to treat them with dignity, to provide good and safe working conditions, and to fairly compensate them.

We also call on all Filipinos, Australians and migrants here in Victoria to rally behind cleaners in their fight for good wages and good working conditions.
