How can I help?

On this page, you’ll find regular updates on how you can support your local shopping centre cleaners. Cleaners are aiming for 5,000 petition signatures. By signing this petition, you’ll be sending messages to cleaners showing your support.

Retail shopping centre cleaners take pride in their work. They work hard to ensure that you and I have clean, hygienic shopping centres that we're happy to spend our time, and money, in.

But, because of the problems in contracting, many are living on a knife's edge, dealing with ever increasing workloads and poverty wages.

Cleaners have been campaigning for a Clean Start in shopping centres for a year now, but the cleaning companies and building owners just aren't listening. This why cleaners have had to take strike action.

Show your support for cleaners. Send an email to shopping centre owners to tell them it's time for a Clean Start.

Dear shopping centre owner, I come into your shopping centre because it's clean. It's because I know the centre is hygienic and sanitary that I'm happy to spend my time, and money, there. But, it saddens me to hear that retail cleaners who work so hard to keep our shopping centres clean are struggling to get by on poverty wages and even hurting themselves because of intense workloads. As a building owner, it reflects poorly on you and your business that you are contracting cleaning companies unwilling to give their employees a fair go. I ask you to stand up and support retail shopping centre cleaners across Australia. I ask that you stand up for a fair go and a Clean Start. Sincerely,
